Violins
Stradivari
1701
One of my best violins. Nice flamed back and a yellow and amber varnish. I seemed to be able to build sensitivity and low timbre into this violin. It has a pleasing tone.
Guarneri
1728
2004
This Guarneri violin has a darker brown texture. the top is Engleman spruce with a beautiful even grain. The oil varnished back is highly flamed sugar maple from Blind River, Ontario. The neck is very comrotable to hold, and the sound pegs are fancy. There is an ebony heel and an insignia on scroll back.
I used Red spruce for the top and Oregon maple for the back. The Cremonese curve is fairly dominant. Much care was put forth in this violin.
Guarneri del Gesu
1732
2005
This Guarneri violin already possessed a rich seasoned tone from the start. It has round sloping shoulders and a medium brown oil varnish. The violin projects very well. The back is of flamed two piece maple and has an ebony heel.
J. Guarneri
1735
2007
Made of Big Leaf maple back and Engleman spruce top. The violin turned out to be wonderful. There is tone, low timbre, and playing ease. A real winner. The oil varnished colour is brown.
Stradivari
1712
2008
This violin is a Stradivari of 1712 that I constructed by hand. The colour is dark with brown red overtones. The sides are highly flamed maple. The back is one piece Oregon maple. The violin has an ebony heel plus an insignia on the back of the scroll. The violin possesses an easy playing sound and plays well.
